I feel so very fortunate to be able to incorporate all the skills that I have acquired since childhood in my present day life. I had a menagerie of wildlife collected butterflies played the flute, studied Latin, made my own clothes, read vociferously, studied interior design and architecture, worked as a fine art painter, had two daughters, designed gardens, created interiors, and become an antiques dealer. All of these pursuits have culminated in my present day. The inspiration from other cultures, from nature, music, art and literature is evident to me in all I do.
However, the greatest gift is my loyal and truly accomplished staff. What a terrific industry this is; filled with incredible talent. There are so many wonderful friends with exciting creative energy and admired clientele with their own talents and such deep appreciations. I am lucky to have so many incredibly beautiful works of art, created internationally and with such mastery that pass through my life.

I am a San Francisco native who graduated from Vassar College in New York and then returned to San Francisco to study law. Finding that it was not to my liking, I began working with my mom, Candace, in her design firm. In 2001, immediately after September 11th, we opened together what is now Candace Barnes, in San Francisco. After thriving in the Vermont Center for ten years, we decided, this January, to move to the San Francisco Design Center, Space 130. We have a street entrance on 15th Street, and we are just loving our new, light-filled, sprawling showroom.
We strive to create a place where antique, contemporary and natural elements beautifully co-exist, a place where people will walk in and feel like they are at home. Candace Barnes is not a straightforward antique showroom. In addition to antiques, we also have a design studio and a custom line of furniture that boasts contemporary pieces, as well as high quality carved pieces inspired by antiques. We are constantly on the lookout for unique, interesting pieces that have clean lines and natural beauty. It is with great joy that I work at this place that is in constant flux, has great energy and incredible people to work firstname.lastname@example.org
The unique combination of inspiration, creativity and technical detail is just one reason I have become an designer.
Born and raised in Chicago, I have always been attracted to the ever evolving world of fashion, architecture and design. Following my interest for design, I attended Indiana State University earning a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design. Prior to joining the Candace Barnes team, I gained experience working on several high-end commercial, residential, custom furnishing projects across the United States and Internationally.
Upon moving to San Francisco, I began working closely with Candace assisting in design projects, learning the fine points of the Candace Barnes signature style and now helping to execute designs for the Candace Barnes Now Collection.email@example.com
“All true artists, whether they know it or not, create from a place of no-mind, from inner stillness.”
Like Tolle understood, I was born with a love for textures, colors, and all things Art. From years of painting and sculpting, I knew at a very early age that I would pursue my passion, and enrolled at the University of Arizona where I completed my degree in Arts Management with a minor in business and Italian. During my educational journey, I ventured to Florence, Italy, where I immersed myself in the world of European art, antiques, museums and auction houses. After two years, I received my professional certificate in Museum Management and Cultural Heritage and interned at the Institute and Museum of the History of Science. Many opportunities followed after.
Finally, like so many people, my heart fell victim to San Francisco. When I met Candace, I knew that her love of antiques, and her view of art, not just as a hobby, but as a lifestyle, matched my unwavering commitment to Art, and am fortunate to be part of her firstname.lastname@example.org
